After 20 years in the construction business, I decided it was time for a change, something that I could do for the rest of my life, that I would enjoy. Now I am not a salesman so to say, so I looked in manys places, but kept coming back to Real Estate, though I was unsure how I would do in a salesman job. However, I found out that it is not that type of job at all! I love houses, housing was something I knew about, I could see past the rough to the diamond that lay beneath with investment properties. I knew trends, by watching what worked and what didnt. I loved helping people, helping them acheive accomplishments. There is nothing more exciting than buying your first home.
My basic business model is simple, answer the phone, seems basic but you would be surprised how many times I have heard" You were the first person I got to answer the phone"! How can you sell a property if you dont make it available?
Treat everyone like their someone, again seems simple.
Act like what your doing is important, because it is.
A commission is not so important, as to deceive or lie about anything, when the money is gone, you still have to live with your conscience. However, that does not mean I work for free, so dont ask! I am actually more expensive than others, but I learned a long time ago, YOU DO GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! 5% of nothing is nothing, so dont short change yourself being cheap.
